We are two local businesses in Erewash.

The Media Starz competition is organised by two local Erewash businesses, Millitec Food Systems and Erewash Sound. This competition was born from our dedication to giving back to the community. We decided to create a competition for local schools and kids, combining our expertise in food technology and radio.

Who We Are

Millitec Food Systems, a manufacturer of food automation machinery, has been a leading innovator in the food industry for 20 years. With its extensive experience, it is known for its innovative and hygienic food solutions.

Since moving to Erewash, Millitec has been dedicated to supporting the community through endorsing local educational and cultural development.

Erewash Sound, launched in 2004, is a genuinely local radio station run by local people as a not-for-profit community interest company. Their output includes music from the 1960s to today, local news, interviews, and more…

In 2013, they formed the Erewash Sound Academy, offering enjoyable and interactive courses that improve skills and employment prospects.

Where Everything Starts

Millitec Media Starz is the brainchild of Richard Ledger, Managing Director of Millitec.

When I was a kid, I spent days in my room building my own radio transmitter to get on air.

This is a great chance for kids to have fun, learn new skills, and actually get broadcast on the airwaves.

We’re all really looking forward to hearing their ideas and working with these talented kids to get the programs made.
